| 2012 Spring Dinner |
|
2012 Spring Dinner Chairman Shelia Vaught and her crew of over fifty volunteers, and the cooler-than-normal weather, made for a perfect afternoon. The Wood Bros crew served a great buffet, including my favorite dessert—fried peach pie. Many thanks to our sponsors for their generous donations, to the families and businesses that donated items for the auction, and to the bidders that took home wonderful items/trips/tickets. While “numbers” are not complete, the total of tickets sales, sponsorships, and auction items was about $33,000. Your continued support of the Scott Plantation Settlement is appreciated as we continue on our goal of “Preserving the Past, Educating the Future.” September 8 we will celebrate “Scott Days” with an open house at All Souls Church, Old Tractor Days at the Plantation Museum, and Civil War Lectures at the Scott Plantation Settlement. October 6 will be “High Cotton on the Bayou at the Scott Plantation Settlement.
